This is a new website about digital privacy, cybersecurity, digital rights & freedoms, and sometimes about tech & tech policy.
Rights in Code expresses a simple but consequential principle: rights are only as strong as technologies that uphold them. Privacy, security, autonomy, and freedoms should not be treated as optional features or retrofitted safeguards but should be embedded in the architecture of every digital product from its first line of code to its last; from its earliest design decisions to its last. Technology and tech policy people use and depend upon should protect them by default and by design.
Hence the name and at large a philosophy that which should be fundamental rights (among others) of digital privacy and cybersecurity that stems from and only sticks to the extent to which and how it is written in code of every tool, software, or product we develop, use, and rely upon everyday.
Blog posts and other pages on the website will contain valuable info on how best to use tech to safeguard your digital lives and become healthier netizens. Some of the formatting of the content may seem "off" but that's because I will be adding links separately as much as possible out of transparency and honesty to show there are no affiliate or tracking links embedded within for if or when one clicks on it. I'm not here to take advantage of your browsing activity or your purchases.
